Wash day- 14 weeks post

Hey everyone!! Hope youre all having a great weekend!!
I had my hair in a sock bun all week( I am such a lazy stylist). It was an amazing protective style; I didn’t need to comb or even restyle my hair each day(though I got caught in rain once and had to let my hair down to dry). In the morning; I just applied some gel to my edges, brushed it with an old toothbrush and dashed out the door. Here’s how my wash day went:

-divided my hair into four sections and finger detangled. Then, I applied a warmed oil mix of amla oil, coconut oil and castor oil infused with onions to my scalp and hair. I detangled with a wide tooth comb and then applied Emily millionaire coconut oil and herbs to the length of my hair. Covered with a nylon bag and left for an hour.
- Washed my hair with Dudu osun black soap bar. Tea rinsed with a cup of green tea with mint and black tea.
- Deep conditioned with Motions Moisture plus conditioner and Profectiv Mega detangling conditioner. Added a spoonful of olive oil and a few drops of Eucalyptus oil. Covered with a shower cap and left on overnight (I haven’t done this in a while coz of time, thought I’d try it again).
- The next morning, rinsed off DC. My hair was super soft!!(DCing overnight rocks!!!) Wrapped hair with t-shirt to soak excess water for 20 minutes.
- Applied leave-ins (mix of Motions leave-in conditioner and VO5 Moisture milks conditioner and ORS Humidity control serum) and threaded hair with black wool in 9 sections.
I’m 14 weeks post; this is when I usually relax my hair. I have over 2 inches of new growth. But I want to stretch to 16 weeks and my hair has been no bother. Detangling has been so easy and I’m losing very little hair!!!! Again, I’m still wondering what I’m doing right. I enjoyed wearing my hair out this week, my hair is usually under wigs since I began my hhj. I’m thinking of also wearing it out next week, maybe do a braid out or twist out.
How did your wash day go?
Cheers, Fatee

  1. Looks like you had a good wash day! I stopped DC ing overnight because I read somewhere that after a specific time the conditioner has no effect on the hair and just sits on the hair. Looks like it's working out fine for you. All the best. Have a blessed day!

  2. Tea rinses are amazing! They really saved my hair after postpartum shedding!
