Wash day - Crochet braids

Hey hairlistas!! Hope we all good???
So I'm about 11 weeks post and my hair be giving me serious attitude and I'm like "Hey hair, I own you ooo!! So don't mess with me!!" That's when I decided to put my hair in a protective style.
So after a lot of deliberation (which style to do or not to do), I settled on crochet braids. I've always wanted to try it and after watching a few vids on Youtube on how it's done, I thought "heck, why not??" But I had to wash my hair first. Here's how that went:

Mini Setback| My experience with white vinegar

Hi hairlistas!!! This post describes a mini setback I’ve just experienced. I call it mini; you’ll see why.
So, shortly before Easter, I was grocery shopping and I spotted white vinegar while grabbing some ketchup. If you’re not new to the hair care world, you’ll probably heard (or read) about vinegar, particularly Apple cider vinegar (ACV) being used for hair (Google it). It is known to remove build-up, reduce itchy, flaky scalp and add shine and bounce to hair. You see, before I started my hair journey, I battled with dandruff and itchy scalp. When I began my hhj, the dandruff disappeared but the itchy scalp persisted, though not as bad as before. I read about ladies using ACV to get rid of itchiness and I longed to try it. Unfortunately, finding ACV is quite difficult in Naija. After reading that white vinegar is just as good, I decided it give it a whirl. So I mixed equal part vinegar with equal part water and used as a final rinse after rinsing off my DC. The itchiness reduced drastically!!! Boy was I pleased. But that’s not the end of the tale.

Wash day | Bantu knots

Hey everyone!!! How we all doing????
This post is two weeks late and I apologise for that.
Here’s how my wash day went:
- DCed on dry hair with Profectiv Mega growth Detangling Conditioner for 20 minutes with heat. This conditioner’s slip is amazing and my pre-wash detangling session went smooth.
- Co washed with VO5 Kiwi and Lime squeeze Clarifying Conditioner.
- Wrapped a T-shirt around my hair to absorb the extra water.
- Applied my leave-ins: Motions CPR leave-in conditioner and ORS Humidity control serum, detangled and air-dried.

First Quarter Goal Review

Hey ladies!!! Welcome to the month of April!! Its April Fools day but go easy on the pranking!!! May you enjoy peace and bliss this month.
At the beginning of the year when I set my hair goals, i decided to do a goal review at the end of each quarter to monitor my progress and adjust if necessary. So since the first quarter of the year is over, it’s time for my first goal review. Here we go.
Length: To be APL by June 2015(which will mark one year since I began my hhj) and almost BSL by the end of the year (December 2015) [it is not June yet, but for the sake of this post I decided to do an unofficial length check. Here it is]
