I'M BACK, FOR REAL THIS TIME!!!

HELLO???!!! IS ANYONE HERE??!!
So, it's been over a year since I blogged in this space. Why? Well, you know, life, hustles and bustles, so many reasons. But I've decided to become a hair blogger again! For real this time, hopefully.
Anyway, so much has changed in the past year especially my hair!! I don't regret my decision to go natural, it's absolutely Amazing! My second year hairniversary is in a few weeks (2 years already? How time flies!!) and here's a collage to show my progress
Yay to growth!!! It's been so good even when I had to snip off like 3 inches because one side of my hair was wayyyyy longer than the others, its grown right back. I'm so excited about year 3 and can't wait to see my hair growth!!
My hair is currently armpit length and I'm chasing waist length. I do believe that it's possible for a 100% Nigerian woman to have waist length hair and I'm hoping to prove it. But now my short-term goal is Bra-strap length by February 2018 (6 months from now). I've found that setting short-term goals makes it easier to achieve my long-term goal of waist length. Fingers crossed, I make it!
So in the next few weeks, I'll be sharing my current hair regimen, new products and techniques I'm testing, and tips and tricks on how to grow your hair long. So, watch this space!
It's good to be back!
Cheers, Fatee.

Fatee, where have you been?

Heyaaa!!!! Sorry I've been away for what... 3,4 months? I'm not even gonna bug you with why I stopped blogging. But I'm truly, truly sorry. Can yall forgive me? Pretty pleaseeeeee? *group hug*
So, what have I  been up to while I was away? Or specifically what has my hair been up to? Well, I'm about 6 months post BC and here's a pic for yall
BC vs 6 months after
My hair is currently 4 inches at the back and 3.5 in up front. Not bad for 6 months, eh? I'm happy with the growth, coz I had to trim off about 1/2 in in December due to single strand knots (blast those things!). I suffered from dryness for a while (probably due to color)  but its much better now. I'm totally happy and in love with my hair!!
Peep my gorgeous hair color!!!!
Concerning my hair color, I've been getting amazing compliments about it. Seriously, its gorgeous. But will I re-color? Short answer, no. Long answer, I absolutely adore the color, but colored hair is MUCH more work than usual. Sure, I did my research before coloring so I was aware of this, but knowing something is way different than experience. So no more color for me,  thank you very much. But we all know how life works. I can see a gorgeous color somewhere (most likely Instagram),  fall head over heels in love with it and go out and get it done. Such is life.
I'm so happy to be back blogging!!! And I promise to be regular at it and keeps yall updated. So watch  this space coz a washday post will be up in a few days + some few juicy stuff!!!
And, with all of my heart, thank you all for not giving up on me. Kisses.
Cheers, Fatee

Hair Update

Hey everyone!
I know I should have posted this hair update a while back, but been busy. So sorry about that.
Anyway it's been 8 weeks since I big chopped; check out my hair between then and now.
I'm so pleased with my hair and its growth. My regimen has changed since going natural; it's much easier. Basically, I co-wash every 2-3 days (coz I exercise a lot and too much sweat on my scalp makes it itch terribly) and deep condition at the end of the week. I moisturise and seal daily (coz colored hair dries out easily). Everything is so easy since my hair is short. I'm currently wigging but I'm beginning to get bored of wigging. I'm thinking of installing box braids; haven't done that in a while.
Concerning my hair color, I had typed a long post detailing the process but somehow it got deleted from my Drafts. I used Creme of Nature Hair color in Caramel Brown. I really love the color; especially when I'm in sunlight.
Anyway, I've always been curious about my hair growth rate. Coloring my hair gives me an opportunity to see and keep track of my hair growth rate. It's been 6 weeks since I colored my hair and here's how much "new growth" I have:

Doesn't look much to me, but my hair grows slowest at the front. I'll continue to keep track as time goes by, and I'm hoping to find ways to boost my hair growth rate.
Right now, I'm just enjoying my TWA.

Versatile Blogger Award

Hi everyone! Wow, its been like forever! So so sorry I've been away for a while, honestly the last couple of weeks have been a blur. So much work and activities....Phew!!
So I was nominated for the Versatile Blogger Award by two of my fave bloggers, Judith of Juditherese's hair care and Modupe of Hairlevation. Thanks girls!!
Here we go.
1. Thank the bloggers who nominated you- which I have.
2. Nominate 15 bloggers.
Hmm, all my fave bloggers have already been nominated. So, if you're a blogger reading this, I nominate YOU!
3. Tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.
- I'm crazy about JESUS CHRIST! He's the Centre of my life, the reason for my existence. He's my Lord and Savior. If you're close to me, you'll hear about Him a lot.
- I'm a vegetarian. Yes, African vegetarians do exist. No,  I wasn't brought up this way. No, I have no medical/religous condition that prohibits me from eating animal flesh.
- I'm an extremely disciplined person. Once I set my mind to do something, I do it.
- I love to read. If it's a book, I love it already.
- I dream of travelling the world someday. Or maybe just Europe.
- I'm addicted to tea. All kinds: green, black, white, camomile etc. I just love tea!!!
- I'm not a pet lover. I'm terrified of dogs; ever since I was bitten by one at age 7. And, I'm not superstitious, but cats really creep me out.
There you have it. I'll post a hair update once I wash my hair tomorrow.
Cheers, Fatee.

I'm back!!

Hi,
It's been like what... forever??? So sorry to be away for so long, been writing exams. But now exams are over, and my life is slowly returning to normal.
So, here's a recap of what's been happening to my hair while I was away
- I BIG CHOPPED!!!
- I coloured my hair!!!
Whilst you're recovering from shock, Here's the news in full.
So,  it happened one faithful day, I had an exam for which I stayed up all night preparing for. Afterwards, I was feeling tired and stressed then someone close to me pissed me off. As I was in that angry, moody state, one of my sisters (FYI, I've got 4) sent me a pic of her big chop. When I decided to go natural, I'd thought of soing the big chop and starting afresh but I  was scared I'd look awful (I've got a weirdly shaped head). So when I saw the pic with my sister looking so gorgeous with her low-cut,  I thought "I'd look good too!" since we look so much alike (Duh, we're sisters). So I grabbed my hair scissors and started snipping away. It took me over an hour, because after cutting off my texlaxed ends, I had to even my hair out. I'd have gone to the barber's, but I was scared they'd scrape off all my hair.
So enough talk. Time for some pics

The reactions have been PRICELESS!!! Everyone, and I mean everyone I know had something to say. The most common statement I received is "Why did you cut your hair? It was so long and healthy" I just shrug and say “it's just hair"
Do I miss my texlaxed hair? Hmm...sometimes. Do I regret doing rhe big chop? Absolutely Not!!! I love my short hair. Wash days are now easy brezzy.
I feel like like I'm starting my hhj afresh and it's exciting!! Looking forward to long, healthy NATURAL hair.
Cheers, Fatee
